사례기반 추론 (Case Based Reasoning) 시스템은 미국 외교정책을 결정하는데 컴퓨터에 의존할 수 있을만큼 충분히 훌륭하다. 사람들마다 경험이 달라서 다른 의사결정을 하지만 컴퓨터는 많은 양의 경험적 데이터로 냉정하게 결정을 할 수 있다. 때때로 너무 많은 사례들로 인해 인간은 case based error 를 범한다.(예를 들면 같은 스페인어로 이름을 지은 배 때문에 발생한 Pueblo 사건과 Mayaguez 사건에서 행한 Ford 대통령의 결정). 컴퓨터는 감정의 지배를 받지 않고 스트레스를 받지 않아 흔들림이 없다 ........
