Edward H. Shortliffe

 (미국, 내과의사, 컴퓨터과학자, 1947~ )

Stanford Medical Informatics (SMI) 에서 MYCIN 을 개발한 내과의사로서 Stanford Medicine  Computer Science 교수, Medical Information Sciences Training Program 소장으로 재직 했었다.

관심분야는 광범위한 의료정보학 (medical informatics), 특히 decision-support systems, 임상의를 위한 작업공간, 웹을 통한 정보 보급. 특정 관심분야의 교육과 훈련

1970 연대 초반, 박사학위를 위해 MYCIN 이라고 알려진 의료 전문가시스템의 주요 개발자였다. 1976~1979 년에 Harvard 와 Stanford 에서 내과 전문의 과정동안의 공백기를 거쳐서, Stanford 내과 교수가 되어 의료정보학의 연구 프로그램을 지도했다. 주요 관심사는 통합된 decision-support systems 와 그것의 효율적인 구현과 관련된 광범위한 영역을 포함한다. 1980 연대 초반, Stanford degree program in medical informatics 을 만들었다. 그 이후 시간을 쪼개어 임상의학과 의료정보학 연구를 계속하고 있다. 1995 년 이후 Associate Dean for Information Resources and Technology at Stanford University School of Medicine 로 일해왔다.
