PUFF

The PUFF system was the first program built using EMYCIN. PUFF's domain is the interpretation of pulmonary function tests for patients with lung disease. The program can diagnose the presence and severity of lung disease and produce reports for the patient's file. Once the rule set for this domain had been developed and debugged, PUFF was transferred to a minicomputer at Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco, where it is used routinely to aid with interpretation of pulmonary function tests. A version of PUFF has been licensed for commercial use.  (1977-1979)
