CASNET/GLAUCOMA

CASNET/GLAUCOMA recognizes and prescribes remedies for disease states related to glaucoma. Its reasoning procedures interpret the findings of a patient in terms of a causal-associational network (CASNET) model that characterizes the pathophysiological mechanisms and clinical course of treated and untreated diseases. Strategies of specific treatment selection are guided by the individual pattern of observations and diagnostic conclusions.

Knowledge is represented in a causal-association network. The system is implemented in FORTRAN and was developed at Rutgers University.
