BABY

BABY monitors newborn intensive care unit on-line patient data, discerns irregularities, and offers corrective solutions. The system monitors data, looks for significant patterns, and suggests further evaluations. BABY also tracks the clinical status of the newborns and can answer questions about each patient,

BABY uses a Bayesian probabilistic method for handling uncertainty, similar to the method used in PROSPECTOR. The system is rule based and uses forward chaining. The system is implemented in PASCAL and was developed at the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana.
